In accordance to the command of King James 1, the Catholic religion was besotted. That was on account of the fact that the monarch endorsed Protestants. A group of catholic men countered by bombing the Houses of parliament.

The contraption to be used for the attack were barrels of gunpowder placed underneath the structures. They were to be exploded when the king and other noblemen were in parliament.
